Winter Leagues 2022-23 - David Fox
Hi everyone - many thanks to David Dain for all the hard work he has put in to get the leagues organised for the new season. I will be dealing with the leagues once they are 'up and running' and will prepare the score cards for you as usual and keep the tables up-to-date.
I attach the bowls timetable, team and player sheets along with the Internal League Rules and comment as follow:
Ladies Triples - this league is still under review but I have set up the timetable as if the league starts on 3rd October. This can be delayed or a mini league say set up to Christmas and something else in the New Year or whatever the Ladies would like. Further information awaited from the Ladies.
Men's Triples on Monday afternoon - the Buckaroos and Pastures New have withdrawn, so the league is now down to 6 teams. This means that the league now does not need to start in September and will start at the beginning of October, along with the other leagues.
Men's Evening Triples on Monday - this league should go ahead. As I understand it we are just awaiting confirmation of the Dynamo's team. Please note the amended start time of 6.15 pm and extended playing time.
Open Triples on Tuesday morning - this league to go ahead. The Outriders have withdrawn and have been replaced by Mix & Match. There are amendments to the Buckaroos team.
Men's Triples Sets on Thursday - no changes apart from the start time of 6.15 pm and extended playing time.
Internal League Rules (displayed in the Bowls Hall) - no surprises. These were just updated at the AGM to include the emergency rules put in place during covid and to make them part of the structure. Basically no postponed games and you can borrow a player from another team but they can't play as Skip and the borrowed player can't come from the team you are playing against. The only other significant amendment was that Dead Jacks are the placed on the T and the end continues. This has been the position in the Men's Triples Sets but will now apply to all leagues.
