League Schedules - David Fox
Welcome to the start of the new season on Monday 27th September.
It's been a busy time for me putting together the Leagues.
I attach for your information timetable and team sheets. Please continue to advise me of any team changes and destroy those sent to you previously as there are some changes. I will comment on each league below.
The first thing to tell you is the IMPORTANT information agreed at the last bowls committee meeting and with immediate effect:
All league games will be 15 ends. You therefore don't need to listen for the warning buzzers - just play the number of ends.
LADIES TRIPLES - MONDAY
This league has been difficult to set up, mainly due to lack of numbers. Many thanks to Julie Brooks for moving from Tristars to Hopefulls to enable the league to continue. It is now up to the players 'to make this league happen'. I will be writing to the ladies separately in any event.
MEN'S TRIPLES - MONDAY
This is the most popular league and has now increased to 8 teams with the Miltons just joining. The sheets you have show one team not playing each week and also a spare rink. Each team will now play every week and there will be no spare rink. You will therefore now need to allocate your players to the match where you were listed for not playing. It is IMPORTANT that you destroy the old sheet and use the one which I am now sending you. Welcome to new members Keith Belt (Pastures New) and Dennis Fowler (MKK'S).
MEN'S EVENING TRIPLES - MONDAY
It has been necessary to create a new team Mystery and move players from other teams to bring this about. Many thanks to David Dain for agreeing to be Team Organiser and every ones co-operation. We could probably do with some more players but I am sure everyone will make this league 'happen'.
OPEN TRIPLES - TUESDAY
Particular thanks go to the Outriders for joining this league and in effect 'saving' the league.
MEN'S TRIPLES SETS - THURSDAY
This league is always popular but some teams could do with a few more players.
The last bowls committee meeting agreed that roll ups should remain at £2 but league matches will be £3 as previously indicated. Friendlies will be £2 plus £1 for tea and biscuits giving a total of £3. The Leisure Centre are working on changing the prices on their computers but in the early games may not have been changed and still show triples at the old price of £7.50 instead of £9. If they ask you for £7.50 pay this instead of £9 before the prices go up! Remember that you need to pay by card and not cash.
